Yamato Japanese Restaurant Reviews Review submitted 12th July 2011- by Scott from Sydney Yamato Japanese Restaurant is a very cool little Japanese restaurant hidden at the end of Corrs Lane right in the heart of Melbourne's Chinatown. This place reminds me of typical Japanese restaurants in Tokyo, tiny with only a few tables. The meal I had was tasty though just a bit disappointing. For such a cool little restaurant the quality of food should be a lot better. There was nothing wrong with the food, just not presented very well and just ordinary flavours and taste.
